Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based practice that teaches individuals how to understand the interconnection of situations, thoughts, and emotions/behavior to produce change. It focuses on challenging and changing negative/unhealthy thoughts to manage various mental health challenges and situations. This has been proven effective for anxiety, depression, relationship issues, self-esteem, and more.

I use this strategy when clients are on edge or uncertain about their behaviors that prevent change or have difficulty making decisions. Motivational Interviewing (MI) is an evidence-based technique that explores clients' uncertainty and increases motivation and commitment to change while emphasizing autonomy.

Solution-Focused Therapy (SFT) is best applied when clients have trouble identifying needs, goals, priorities, and available solutions. We will work to identify obstacles and opportunities for change focusing on solutions rather than problems.

People who are guided by their faith, do not have to stay away from therapy. Need help in building your faith while trying to overcome problems? Faith-based Counseling can aid in that walk. Faith-Based Counseling involves a spiritual and/or religious approach. I incorporate biblical principles and beliefs to help you process your emotions and thoughts, build your faith, remember God’s promises, identify unhealthy belief systems, and more. Faith-Based Counseling can be utilized alone or with other techniques to help you reach your desired solutions and keep God first.
